Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Civil Jobs collects, why, how long it is kept, and your rights under UK GDPR. Last reviewed: 7 October 2026.

Civil Jobs is operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, who is the controller of the personal data described on this page. Contact us regarding privacy or data requests at support@civiljobs.co.uk.

Civil Jobs is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by HM Government or Civil Service Jobs. We are an independent search index and never process job applications.

You can browse the entire site anonymously without creating an account.

Job listings are gathered from public sources under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Adverts may contain contact details of recruitment personnel. We scrub email addresses, telephone numbers, and contact names prior to database storage or processing under Article 14.

Named in a listing? Email support@civiljobs.co.uk with the listing details to request immediate removal under UK GDPR Art 21(1).

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Data is processed securely using industry-standard cloud infrastructure providers bound by UK GDPR data processing agreements. Authentication data is processed via Google OAuth. When feedback or an advert report is sent, an alert containing the message and the page (not your email address) is forwarded to the site operator through Telegram.

Account data and saved searches are retained until you request deletion or after 24 months of account inactivity. System logs are deleted within 90 days. Raw job vacancy HTML is purged 60 days post-closing. Advert reports are kept until we have dealt with them and cleared them. Feedback you send is deleted 12 months after you send it. If your account is deleted first, your reports and feedback are kept without any link to you until then.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, port, or erase your data, and to object to processing. To exercise these rights, email support@civiljobs.co.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
